As site assessors
we can visit your property and give you more information
about wind energy systems in general, and can also look
at turbine siting issues at your specific site. A
site assessment, along with additional input from the
wind system dealer/installer involved with your project,
will help you to determine the best potential locations
for a wind turbine on your property.
New land-use activities such as a wind turbine or a wind
farm must
follow local, state and federal land use guidelines to
secure approvals for development. Proximity to special
scenic settings, historical conditions, unique plant and
animal wildlife along with
proximity to residential districts are some factors
reviewed in GESI’s assessments.

WIND DATA
ADQUISITION

For remote locations or for heavy-duty industrial
meteorological stations for
potential wind farm development, we offer installation
of the Met-Tower system. The integrated functionality of
the light-weight tower (up to 50 meters), sensors, data
loggers and
software provide complete compatibility and ensure that
your data is being collected and
protected. The towers
are easy to install (no concrete foundation needed). The
sensors, an anemometer and a wind direction vane,
provide many years of accurate measurements without
maintenance or calibration. Two software programs gather
and provide reporting capability: While data can be
collected manually, one program downloads the data to
computer serially or through cellular or telephone
lines; it is also used to update logger parameters
including averaging intervals and call scheduling. The
entire system provides total control and complete
flexibility.
Landowners, both private and public, will
expect to be compensated for any wind energy development
that occurs on their land. Royalty or lease agreements
will need to be discussed with all parties involved.
GESI will take care of all that.
· ACCESS
The site will
require a minimum 50 foot road easement to the
foundation of the wind turbine. This access point will
be used for the lifetime of the turbine to allow for
maintenance and repairs.
GESI offers the full range of services for established
wind energy projects - operations, management, routine
and emergency maintenance.
